
Beckon
Currently in development with 20+ people, Beckon is a 3D puzzle game about where you play as the soul of a child who got eaten by a world-devouring whale. The player must use light to solve puzzles and navigate and learn more about the space.
For this game, I'm the art director. This was my first time taking a leading role on a project and I think leading the vision for this project helped teach me discipline for my own personal projects as well as the work I do on other teams.

Since we knew from the start this game would take place inside a whale and involve light, The art team decided that the player should look resemble a bioluminescent sea creature, so everyone started making concepts right away. Everyone loved the idea of the character resembling a sea angel so from there we decided on a lighting style.

This character concept made by Richard Nguyen gave us the best sense of what we wanted the character and lighting to look like.
